Bubble Tea for Restaurants: The Can, the Kit and Who Serves It - TeaJoy

Bubble Tea for Restaurants: The Can, the Kit and Who Serves It

Ning Ma

A UK restaurant can serve bubble tea two ways, with no specialist equipment. TeaJoy's 330ml can has the popping boba inside and a paper straw attached: chill it and serve it. Our commercial kits are made up in the cup to order in 20 seconds. Order direct from us or through wholesalers such as Bidfood.

TeaJoy started in a restaurant kitchen: Ning's, at MamaLan in Brixton, during the first lockdown. Making bubble tea the usual way was slow and hard to get right, so she developed her own recipes, and what began as a fix for one restaurant became our commercial kit. The longer version is in our commercial kit guide.

Trade terms: £200 minimum order, free delivery and free samples, with orders arriving in 3 to 4 working days. How to order TeaJoy wholesale has the steps.

Today TeaJoy is served at Rosa's Thai, Las Iguanas, Black Sheep Coffee and TGI Fridays, and in more than 800 UK locations in all, with 2.5 million drinks sold. This guide is for restaurant owners and managers thinking about bubble tea: the two ways we supply it, which suits which kind of restaurant, and how to order.

Restaurants already serving TeaJoy

Beyond those four names, our where to buy page lists restaurant groups serving TeaJoy branch by branch. Among them:

Restaurant group Branches listed Branches include
You Me Sushi 30 Angel, Brighton, Luton, Milton Keynes, Reading, Worthing
Sushi Handroll 12 Finsbury Park, Greenwich, Romford, Weybridge
Angus Steak House 4 Bond Street, Leicester Square, Oxford Circus, Paddington
Steak and Company 4 Covent Garden, Gloucester Road, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus
Inamo 3 Camden, Covent Garden, Soho

Hundreds of independent cafés, bubble tea shops and restaurants serve it too. The chains serve it in their own packaging. Most of what we sell goes through wholesalers, so no list of ours covers every restaurant that serves it. In 2025 we were named London Food & Drink Startup of the Year at the UK StartUp Awards. Our awards and press coverage are gathered in is TeaJoy any good.

Ning told Bread & Jam Fest how some of those partnerships began: Steak and Company and Las Iguanas both at an operators' dinner, and Black Sheep Coffee through a conference pitch.

Who serves TeaJoy, and what each drink is

TeaJoy is already served at Thai, sushi, steak house and Latin American restaurants, and in coffee shops. The first table shows who; the second shows what each of our drinks is, from its pack.

Kind of restaurant or café Already serving TeaJoy
Thai Rosa's Thai
Sushi You Me Sushi, Sushi Handroll
Steak house Angus Steak House, Steak and Company
Latin American Las Iguanas
Coffee shop Black Sheep Coffee
TeaJoy drink What it is
Fruit tea commercial kit Fruit tea syrup with popping boba, made up with water and ice
Classic Milk Tea commercial kit Classic tea powder with instant tapioca, made up with milk or plant milk and ice
The can 330ml green tea with 30% fruit juice and popping boba, ready to drink

Two ways to serve it: the can and the kit

The can: nothing to prepare

Our 330ml can has popping boba already inside, 10% of the can, and a paper straw attached. There are two flavours, Peach & Mango and Passionfruit & Strawberry, each a green tea with 30% fruit juice. The can says "Chill and shake well before serving", and that is the whole job: a chiller is the only equipment. It prints VEGAN, GLUTEN FREE, ALLERGEN FREE and HALAL, with 2g of sugars and 8.8 kcal per 100ml. Cans have a shelf life of 24 months from production, with the best before on the base, and come in cases of 12. The Caterer, which covers products for restaurant, pub and hotel buyers, included them in its round-up of the best new foodservice products in March 2026. See them on the cans page.

The kit: made to order in 20 seconds

A commercial kit is made up in the cup, to order, and 20 seconds is the whole drink. There is no equipment and no boiling: no sealing machine, shaker or pearl cooker, just the fridge, ice, water and milk a restaurant kitchen already has. The fruit tea kits take water and make 20 drinks a box; the Classic Milk Tea kit takes milk or plant milk and makes 10. Every box carries its own cups, lids and straws, and is printed vegan and allergen free. Which kit to start with is set out side by side in fruit tea or milk tea, and the price per drink, kit by kit, in how much it costs to add bubble tea to a menu. See the range on the commercial kits page.

Can or kit: which suits your restaurant?

Busy service suits the can, a menu that wants drinks made fresh suits the kit, and a halal or plant-based menu can take either. Find the row that sounds like your restaurant.

Your restaurant Start with Why
Busy service, no time to make drinks at the pass The can Chill and serve: sealed, boba inside, straw attached
Wants bubble tea on the drinks or dessert menu, made fresh The kit Made in the cup in 20 seconds, with no equipment
Serves a halal menu Either The can prints HALAL, and all TeaJoy products are halal
Gets plant-based requests Either The can prints VEGAN, every kit box prints vegan, and the milk kit takes plant milk
Several branches that need to match Either Every can is the same, and every kit drink is measured by sachet, measuring cup or ladle, with a training manual in each box
Expects to sell only a few a week at first The can or the milk kit Nothing opened sits waiting; opened fruit syrup and boba need using within 30 days
A group that wants its own packaging Talk to us We offer partnership options for larger accounts

What it asks of your kitchen

Traditional tapioca pearls need boiling before service. Ours need no heating or cooking, and our kits cut bubble tea prep from two hours to 20 seconds, with no barista training for your team. TeaJoy saves you space, time, equipment and labour costs, and suits businesses of every size, from small independents to national chains.

Storage is modest: cans need chiller space, unopened kit boxes a cool, dry place away from the sun, and an opened fruit tea box's boba tub a place in the fridge.
