Bubble tea kits: common questions

What is in a TeaJoy bubble tea kit?

Every TeaJoy kit makes four drinks. Inside are four tea sachets (fruit syrup, milk tea powder or matcha powder), four sachets of boba or pearls, four jumbo paper straws and step-by-step instructions. You add 300ml of water for fruit tea, or milk for milk tea and matcha, then ice. No boiling, brewing or special equipment. The four steps are in how to make bubble tea at home without special equipment.

How long does a bubble tea kit take to make?

A fruit tea is stir, pour, done. The tapioca pearls are instant, so a milk tea is ready in about 20 seconds.

Do I need any special equipment?

No. A cup and a spoon are all you need. There is no boiling, no cooking and no microwaving.

Do TeaJoy kits use tapioca pearls or popping boba?

Both, depending on the kit. Tapioca pearls are the chewy classic and come in the Milk Tea Kit. Popping boba are thin-shelled spheres of real fruit juice that burst as you drink, and come in the Fruit Tea Kit and the Matcha Kit.

Which TeaJoy kit should I choose?

Choose the Fruit Tea Kit for passionfruit, strawberry and mango flavours made with water, the Milk Tea Kit for classic and brown sugar milk tea, or the Matcha Kit for two matcha and strawberry drinks and two strawberry and mango drinks.

Which bubble tea kit is easiest for beginners?

The Fruit Tea Kit. Pour a syrup sachet into a cup, add 300ml of water, stir in the popping boba and add ice. Nothing is cooked and there is no milk to choose. Prefer a classic milk tea? The Milk Tea Kit is just as quick: a drink is ready in about 20 seconds because the instant tapioca pearls need no cooking. Both are in our guide to the best bubble tea kits.

Is a TeaJoy kit a good bubble tea gift set?

Yes. Each kit is a boxed set that makes four drinks, with the jumbo paper straws and step-by-step instructions inside, so the person opening it needs only a cup, ice, and water or milk. Every kit is vegan, gluten free and allergen free, which helps when you do not know what someone can eat. Our bubble tea gift guide by occasion matches a kit to the person.

Are TeaJoy kits vegan?

Yes. Every kit is vegan, gluten free and allergen free. The Milk Tea Kit contains no milk: you add 300ml of your own milk or a milk alternative, so made with oat or soy it is a vegan drink.

How are the kits delivered?

Orders are dispatched the next day and sent by DPD on a 2 to 4 working day service. UK delivery is £3.95, and it is free on orders of £25 or more.

Full ingredients for every drink are on Our Bubble Teas.
