Ning Ma

Our pack ingredient lists show sugar in every TeaJoy drink and three named sweeteners in some: acesulfame potassium and sucralose in the cans, sucralose in the Brown Sugar tea powder, and D-sorbitol, printed as a sweetener, in the instant tapioca. The Fruit Tea Kit and Matcha Kit drinks list no sweetener; they use sugars such as fructose and glucose.

TeaJoy is a UK bubble tea brand of cans, home kits and café kits, served in more than 800 cafés, restaurants and shops. Every list below is copied from our packs, home and café; the full lists are on Our Bubble Teas.

Which TeaJoy drinks contain sucralose or another sweetener?

  • Sucralose: both cans, and the Brown Sugar milk tea, in its tea powder.
  • Acesulfame potassium: both cans.
  • D-sorbitol, printed "(sweetener)": the instant tapioca, so both Milk Tea Kit drinks and the café Classic Milk Tea kit.
  • Maltitol: the instant tapioca in the home Milk Tea Kit. The café Classic Milk Tea box does not list it.
  • None of these: the Fruit Tea Kit, the Matcha Kit and the three café fruit kits.

Which TeaJoy drinks use fructose?

Every fruit tea syrup, home and café, lists fructose first, ahead of the fruit juice and the sugar. Every popping boba in our kits lists water, then fructose syrup, then sugar. The can, the milk tea powders, the instant tapioca and the matcha powder name no fructose.
