A Bubble Tea Care Package for a Student: Three Boxes, Priced - TeaJoy

A Bubble Tea Care Package for a Student: Three Boxes, Priced

Ning Ma

The short answer: three TeaJoy bundles work as a student care package, and all three clear the £25 free delivery line. The cheapest is £25.19: a Matcha Bubble Tea Kit plus the mixed 4-pack of cans. The simplest is £26.98: a Fruit Tea Kit and a Milk Tea Kit. The most generous is £40.97: all three kits, twelve drinks in total.

Each one is built for a student with a cup, a spoon and no kettle. Nothing is boiled, cooked or microwaved, and every kit comes with four jumbo paper straws and step-by-step instructions.

What a student needs (and doesn't)

A student bubble tea kit has to work around three things:

  • No kettle: nothing should need hot water
  • No pan: nothing should need cooking
  • No equipment: a cup and a spoon should be enough

Every TeaJoy kit meets all three. The fruit teas are made with water, the milk teas and matcha drinks with milk or a milk alternative, and the boba goes in straight from the sachet. A drink takes about 20 seconds.

Each kit box includes four jumbo paper straws, so there is nothing to buy in on that front either.

Bundle 1: Matcha Kit plus the mixed 4-pack, £25.19

What is in it: The Matcha Bubble Tea Kit (£13.99), four drinks, and the mixed 4-pack of cans (£11.20), two of each flavour.

Per glass: Around £3.50 to £3.95 for the kit drinks, £2.80 a can from the mixed pack.

Why it works: It gives the student two things. A kit to make on a quiet afternoon, and cans to drink cold straight from the fridge. The Matcha Kit itself is the one box that makes two kinds of drink: two Matcha & Strawberry made with milk, and two Strawberry & Mango fruit teas made with water.

Delivery: £25.19 clears the £25 line, so delivery is free.

Bundle 2: Fruit Tea Kit and Milk Tea Kit, £26.98

What is in it: The Fruit Tea Kit (£13.49) and the Milk Tea Kit (£13.49), eight drinks in total.

Per glass: Around £3.40 for a fruit tea and £3.80 to £3.90 for a milk tea once milk is added.

Why it works: This is the simplest box to send. One kit is made with water, the other with milk, so there is nothing to choose and nothing to get wrong. It also covers two different moods: a light fruit tea in the afternoon, a creamy milk tea at night.

Delivery: £26.98 clears the line, so delivery is free.

Bundle 3: All three kits, £40.97

What is in it: The Fruit Tea Kit, the Milk Tea Kit and the Matcha Bubble Tea Kit, twelve drinks in total.

Per glass: The same range as above, about £3.40 to £3.95.

Why it works: Twelve drinks is a proper term's worth of treats, and it gives the widest spread of flavours. It is also the box that keeps a flatmate or two happy.

Delivery: £40.97 clears the line, so delivery is free.

What the student adds

For a kit, the shopping list is short: a cup, ice, and water or milk. The milk teas and the matcha drinks take 300ml of milk or a milk alternative, and the fruit teas take 300ml of water.

For a can, there is nothing to add. Chill it, shake it well, and open it.

Kit sachets are single portions, opened as each drink is made, and our products keep for 24 months from production. So a box can sit in a cupboard until term starts and nothing is wasted.

Campuses where TeaJoy is already served

If the student is going somewhere TeaJoy is already on site, they may not need a care package at all, though a box in the room is never a bad thing.
